Check-up & Clean in Burwood
At Burwood Dental Centre, we believe your smile is the greatest treasure. To achieve your best smile, proper dental hygiene is extremely important. We help you maintain good oral health by keeping your teeth, gums, and mouth healthy and clean.
What to Expect
Whether you come in as a new patient, or a three or six-month recall, we conduct a comprehensive examination of your mouth to check for signs or symptoms of any disease. The visit includes preventive dental care aimed at diagnosing tooth problems like dental plaque, tartar, gum disease, tooth decay, and cavities.
In some cases, dental X-rays may be necessary to check for cavities between the teeth. New patients have two sets of X-rays taken, and depending on the patient’s age, we may also do an OPG oral X-ray.
Our dentist thoroughly cleans your teeth, focusing on areas not easily accessed with a toothbrush or floss. We also offer tips to maintain good oral hygiene and answer all queries regarding your teeth and gums. Your appointment concludes with a tooth polishing and fluoride treatment.
Why Do I Need a Fluoride Treatment?
Studies have shown topical application of fluoride to the teeth reduces the incidence of dental decay. The ADA recommends fluoride treatments for those at higher risk for dental decay.
The Importance of Check-ups and Cleanings
Ensuring your family has the best quality dental care is important to maintain good oral hygiene and overall health and wellness. Regular and periodic dental check-ups are essential to detect tooth problems in their early stages. This allows us to rectify them before they cause serious issues.
Missing or Delaying Your Visits
Our dentists are highly trained to provide you with a positive experience, so you have the most comfortable visit possible. Regular visits to your dentist are essential to prevent oral disease, maintain good general health, and improve your lifestyle.
Delaying your appointment may result in further and potentially extensive damage to your gums and teeth. Increased costs, along with the discomfort associated with decayed and fractured teeth, are common consequences.
We recommend getting your dental check-up and cleaning done at least two times every year. Our team provides reminders for all our patients for their six-month recall. We also send patients periodic reminders that they’re due for their check-up and clean.
